I decided to try NexGen because I was sick and tired of having acrylic extensions damage my nails and wanted something that would be less harmful. Now, no matter what any nail technician tells you, ALL fake nail extensions damage your nails, in one way or another. Some may not cause as much damage in comparison to others, but they still cause damage nonetheless. After rave reviews from the nail technician I was sold on this supposed ‘revolutionary nail technique’ that used powder instead of acrylic to achieve a set of flawless nails (that don’t damage your real ones).
- No drilling on your nails as they are applied with powder that dries and hardens on the nail.
- Less damage to your nail bed in comparison to other forms of nail extensions.
- Remains glossy and shiny while you have them.
- Weaker than acrylic nails and may break/crack easily.
- Minimal damage to the nail bed but there may be slight damage.
- Very small range of colours and styles.
Overall, I wouldn’t try NexGen nails again. Not only were they expensive but they are a lot weaker than acrylic nails and mine began to crack in the second week that I had them – which was rather annoying. They did damage my nails but no way as much as acrylics. The top layer of my nails were a bit damaged but nothing that couldn’t be cured with a good buff. I did love that they stayed very shiny while I had them on though which was nice.
